This feels like an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, when you stand up in front of total strangers and confess your vices: "Hello, my name is Dave, and I am a British car junkie".
Current garage mutts that follow me around include a 1962 AH 3000 BT7 tri-carb, 1966 AH3000 BJ8, 1976 TR6, and a Sears Craftsman 22 hp Briggs & Stratton V-twin ride-on lawn mower (including custom cup holder for beer!). I've already used the Forum a number of times to get some input on a few of my projects, and I have one general observation: The information that is provided in the Forum is priceless. Tried and true suggestions and experiences that are shared by some truly gifted enthusiasts. Wish I'd have had this resource 30 years ago. On the other hand that may not be a good thing, because a local divorce lawyer keeps circling the block in the faint hope that I try to sneak yet another junkyard orphan into the garage under cover of darkness, when my sainted wife's asleep.
Cheers to all - "I'll be in the garage if you need me"

Hello, Davidb! Sounds like you'll fit right in around here! Welcome to the Forum!

Yup. Gotta agree. "Smitten" for thirty years... If it's been that long, you're hopeless. No sense thinking admission of the affliction is any ameliorator, either.

Pull up a stool an' relax!

...you DID get th' memo about newbies bringin' th' beer, yes? :jester:

Hello Davidb;

Whereabouts in Ontario are you?
There is a large contingent of people from Ontario on here, and we are always happy to have another.
And don't let Steve fool you, we all like cheap beer. It's part of the affliction!

BTW we love pictures, lots!

Dave :savewave:

I have Ontario connections. My aunt and her children live there, Toronto, Grafton, etc. We had a cottage in Muskoka for many, many years. My aunt and her kids still own the cottage her Grandfather(?), my great Grandfather owned between Bracebridge and Port Carling. Beautiful part of the world up there!!

Hello to 14dna Dave - I'm in Ottawa, home to NHL hockey's Hall of Shame, and proud birthplace of Hooker's Beavertails - Official junk food supplier to the new President of the United States.
Nice to hear from you. And I thought I was all alone here in the True North Strong and Free..zing. I've tried to attach some pictures but I can't seem to figure out the process (I don't have a website),and am blessed with Homer Simpson's brain. In the meantime, send blankets and cookies, and please return my ladder.

Cheers
Dave B.

...now we're CERTAIN you've found a "home"!!!

Dave;

Is that where the ladder came from?
I was kinda wonderin'!

Actually, I'm familiar with Ottawa as my kid brother works there and lives in Orleans. If I get up your way this summer, I will try to look you up.
I'm down south in the banana belt (OK tobacco) very close to Long Point.
If you get my way, stop in for a glass of Milk (oops, I mean BEER)

Dave

Welcome Davidb,

You are going to be great here. I don't know what you call beer but I do hope you enjoy yourself.

Cheers.

Greetings David

Dave Graves - yes, if you're in town you're more than welcome to drop by. Hopefully you'll bring your tools along and a decent compressor. My email is aztech@magma.ca (wife's email). Give me a few days notice and I'll get a case of beer and a couple of hookers.
As for the rest of you, I haven't seen so many clowns since the Ringling Brothers came through town - LOL

Cheers

OI!!

...Jus' keep in mind: "When ya lie down with dogs..." :jester:

Doc Entropy - haven't I recently seen your mug shot on America's Most Wanted, or was it Interpol? "Wanted for questioning in the disappearance of Lotus hubcaps"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Elsinore, DK - is that Denmark?

Is your MGB the 3 main bearing model? I had a teal blue '71 B. Loved it. Probably the most comfortable of all my Brit vices. Still have the hardtop, a box of related nuts and bolts, and fond memories of my first wife at play..

Cheers

Hi David,

I was just driving thru and wanted to say: "Welcome" from NE PA to one of thee (NO; "THEE" best) LBC sites bar (More Beer) none!

Russ

HUBCAPS?!?! WE don't need no steenkin' HUBCAPS!!!

DK would be Denmark, yes. :smirk:

This B is an amalgam. 5-main compression bumped, Crane camm'd, DCOE'd. Me an' Horsemits (My S.O... AKA: SWMBO, or 'smits) did a decade without a B, suffer'd withdrawl, so acquired this one in '89. Drove it into the dirt and now have resurrected it to begin its torture over again. They're stout, reliable, forgiving cars.
