Brings up a time of epiphany: When I came to realize the camera was "insulating" me, allowing me to record events without being a participant. I'd been trained from my early teens to be as inconspicuous as possible, try to get the "money shots" without intrusion. Did some serious re-evaluation sometime in my mid and late twenties. Concluded I could've been dead a number of times, just dumb luck to still be upright and breathing.
