Interesting. The Ferrari Dino looks better... but the Citroën Ami 6 is funny.

These probably wouldn't drip enough oil to have as much character as the old ones.

I think the idea of trying to modernize the old cars is clever, but ultimately fails--it's like a modern Mini compared to the older Mini Coopers--the charm is all washed out of them.
 
The Spitfire and the X19 aren't bad, but the "Bugeye" looks like a bad Chinese copy of an Audi TT (they do that sort of thing, you know)... atrocious, in my opinion.
 
I agree, the X1/9 and Spitfire -- not bad. The "modern" Bugeye....ugh
 
I really like the X1/9 version. As a previous owner it reminds me of how modern that car was then. I realize that the original was a much newer design than the Sprite or the Spitfire even back then. The TR7 was designed in that same era, and it would probably look good as a new design as well.
