This morning's job is concluding mounting our TV on the wall.
Got the frame up, got the hole cut for the recessed outlet behind etc. etc. wiring will be easy.
Two questions.
1. Wireless Booster. We live in a 1940 story & a half home. we have about 2000 square feet with a further 400 square foot apartment. wireless needs to cover all this space. Over the years, there have been additions to the house - front porch is now a room and an office has been added on the back. Likewise the apartment was a later add on. All this means that at least three interior walls used to be exterior walls.
Currently the modem & wifi transmitter are in the upstairs bedroom - centrally located and works well. I am planning on moving it into the office at the back so that the TV can be hard wired to the modem. This will speed up the TV (smart TV) but, may affect wifi, particularly to the front pf the house and the apartment. So, any suggestions? I know there are various boosters out there but they mystify the heck out of me. advice gratefully received (simple words please
2. Splitters. I am currently planning a new piece of coax from the main unit (where the cable enters the house) to the TV and the modem. (the original weaves and wanders so that I can't really move it. Is it OK to put on a splitter? (one to the modem one to the TV) or will this degrade the quality of the signal?
ideas?
thanks all
