Merry Christmas all
My very Scottish next door neibour has been looking at my TR7 for over a year now, and has the urge again, at the tender age of 50. He doesn't want to do better then me, so he is looking for an MGB.

His plan is toward the summer. What he is looking for is just a good driver, needs work, but quite acceptable, in the range of 6 to 8 G's. It has to have overdrive too.
We are north of Toronto, so I am not sure how far he wants to scan.
Is he looking at too much car for too litle price? Any and all information is appreciated.

Thanks
Paul

For "6 to 8 G's" he can get an MGB that needs no work and can make a good showing in car shows!

Hi Paul,

He shouldn't have to look too far, there are lots of MGB's around Toronto and southern Ontario, as far as clubs (IMHO... the best place to start looking) there are lots of them beyond just the MG Club of Toronto, surprisingly the British Saloon Car Club would be a good place to start (there are lots of sports car owners in the club as well), also check out www.britishcarlinks.com , the guy who runs this site lives near Stayner, Ontario but has links worldwide, he should have an idea where to start and certainly has lots of links to start with.

Ummmm... That's *Canadian* dollars (but I still think you should be able to get a decent car in that price range).

I'm guessing since KLUTZ is in Canada, he means 6 to 8 Gs Canadian? (4500 - 6000 approx US?).

Just a hunch

That's right. They pays us in $LOONIES$; we pays them in $LOONIES$.
I also don't think he would want to go through the hassle of bringing back from the U.S.

Too bad because a warm, two-week winter vacation in Arizona, New Mexico, or Nevada might get him a very nice, rust-free MGB, possibly with air conditioning and overdrive, for that kind of money.

Don't know why...I ship them to canada or have guys come down & take them back all the time...never a hassle...I give them either the title & a bill of sale or a current registration if too old for a title & a bill of sale & they breeze across the border....only had 1 guy have a bit of trouble with registering & that was because my signature wasn't notarized...we solved that & now I notarize everythnig going to Canada

Regarding your friends MGB desire. I have completed a restoration of a 78 MGB roadster. The car has been finished in showroom condition and is tan (real) leather and BRG in color. The machanicals are all sorted out and the car is absolutely rust free. It will pass the most rigorous cosmetic inspection. I can also add or modify any items such as the ignition or carburetor system. The price of the roadster will fall within his range and needs no further work. Contact me if he is interested. The car is located in North Alabama and is now available.

I saw Jack's car today - it turned out real sweet....but, Jack, he's talking Canadian dollars!

Well!! We have gained $.25 on your dollar in the last year, so maybe by spring time..... We will be on PAR again!!!!!
I will definatly pass on all this Info to Dave. I didn't realise that it was so easy to bring a vehicle over, and I doubt he did. His daughter is a professional skater, and does lots of shows in the U.S., so there may be a chance.
Thanks again
Paul

Or, he could build one...he really needs to know something about the cars so that he can recognize problems & so he can do the maintenance
