Need XK140 thermostat

I am trying to finish restoration of a XK140 FHC for a friend. Got the motor running yesterday only to lose all its water on the floor after about 5 minutes. It has the wrong radiator cap that doesn't seal and wrong thermostat that doesn't open and couldn't restrict the bypass even if it did. Is the proper thermostat available anywhere? Or do I just have to build a full-time restricter for the bypass?

Thanks for any help.

3.4 and 3.8 engines installed in Saloons/Sedans use a special type of thermostat called "Super Stat", sold by XK's Unltd. It's a "bypass" thermostat, and it looks like nothing you are used to.

For radiator caps, they usually came with 6 lb. caps from the factory which were later superceeded to 12 or 13 lb. caps.
STANT makes great radiator caps with pressure release levers. Though they do not list them for Jaguar, it's a matter of getting to AutoZone to check different ones.

Radiator cap OTS to 822423, DHC to 817459, FHC to 814240 takes four pound cap. XKS # C3455

7 pound cap XKS # 09-1000

Rad cap 4 pound from above #s at XKs C10289

Thermostat by-pass type XKs # 09-0160

Thanks guys. I found both at XKs. Should be here by Monday. I knew the it needed a special bypass stat and the cap has to seal deeper than most.
