Does anyone know where to go to download a wiring diagram for a 1992 VW Cabriolet? My friend bought one and they took the alarm out before the sale. Now some of the accessories don't work correctly and the wipers don't work at all. Some wires are cut and others are spliced. A diagram would sure help me sort this out. Thanks
Dave

Haven't got one that "new" Dave. All the references I can find onna 'net point to "ALLDATA"... I ~hate~ the way the "profession" has gone. The web should be a place for info FINDING, not the typical: "Subscribe to AllData!" that I've had shoved in my face more'n once. I joined 'iATN' when it was just begun, found SOME co-operation in the beginning... now it's a 'clubby' bunch with a REALLY arrogant attitude from more than a few of 'em... so much for 'information' on the "Super Highway" I guess.

If I find a "map" of that VW, I'll pass it thru.

Thanks Kerry I'm sure this will help and it's better than guessing.
Doc. I agree, the 'net was supposed to be info., but now it's just a way to get your address so they can get your money. I've got connections at Honda after 25 years working for them, but not enough connections at other manufacturers. Thanks for all the help guys and if you see a regular diagram, post it, and I'll do my best to figure it out.

Remember, the wabbit based cars are notorious for fuse block disorders. Water runs down the antenna cable and corrodes the bejezus out of the pins on the back of the fuse block. Disconnect the connector blocks one at a time and clean up the pins, and coat with some contact grease. You might have some luck posting a request on the vw vortex forums. I have No Data,uh, All data, but I have no idea how to import them to the computer to post them for you.
Good Luck,

Jeff
Got the wiring diagram downloaded that you sent. That should help lots. the car is coming out of storage this weekend,(Canada EH) so I'll be able to look at it and then, hopefully, repair. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for all your help. If i can help you, just ask as I have over 30 years in Canada as a Honda technician.

Thanks for the offer, Dave, but I don't own any Japanese cars. Pretty much either British or Swedish.
I hope the diagram helps.
Hey, you're only about three hours from me, so I know all about taking cars out of storage after their long winters nap! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

as Jesse said Dave try vwvortex or pocketrocket.ca I have the haynes for the vw thru '92 but it doesn't give the wiring for the cabby, just the golf and jetta 1990

Jeff.
Also have about six or seven years experience with Honda on some of their racing projects. And if that's not enough, I've worked extensively with my buddy John on his PRO STOCK IHRA car. I also own an old El Camino with about 375 HP. I guess you can see I'm a little enthused by cars. I like Hondas cause they're dependable but I sure have a thing for a fast car of any description. I've owned over 75 in my lifetime, from bugeyed Sprites to a 427 Impala, so if knowledge is here, I've got it by experience. At my age, I've made every mistake at least once, I'm just recycling a few.

I see your in King City. I go through there all the time in the summer on the way to North Bay and that silly cottage of my friend Joe.
Thanks for your help guys.
