TR6 Need TR6 distributor advance weight spring

HelP!
I need a set of new springs for the distributor advance weights. The distributor was very slow to return to 4 degree ATDC. When investigating and cleaning I found only one spring and it seems stretched. Have not been able to source these in any of the usual places. Cleaning and polishing all the parts did help, but still need some springs.
Any suggestions from the brain trust.
Thanks

The spring that seems stretched is likely the secondary spring & the primary spring is missing.

Centrifugal advance usually uses two different spring weights & lengths to give a two stage advance, rapid at low rpm, slower at higher rpm.

The primary spring controls the weights at lower rpm & should return the weights to zero advance.

The secondary spring has some slack in it's fitting, so that the primary spring does all of the work at lower rpm.

Beyond a certain advance point, the slack in the secondary spring is taken up & from there up to higher rpm, the springs are a combination of the primary spring & the now operational (mounting slack removed) secondary spring.

You can identify a primary spring by it being slightly shorter & possibly slightly lighter gage. A primary spring from almost any distributor would likely get you in the ball park. I'm sure that Jeff could provide a usable spring.

Not related to your distributor but would love to see a photo of that 1947 Norton model 18. Perhaps over in the British motorcycle section? In my earlier first life I just about tried to kill myself any which way I could on two wheels. Having not succeeded in that I thought I would try sports cars for the second half.
