TR2/3/3A Need TR3B front and rear apron, sidescreens

Hi all,

My front apron is twisted and a bit mangled from a front end collision, and if I can pick up another one reasonably I think it would be worthwhile. I am looking for one that only needs minor repair and has the "lip" that the later TR3s had.

I am also looking for a rear apron. The one that came with my tub is a bondo nightmare with chicken wire, etc. on the lower portions.

I am also looking for a pair of rebuildable sidescreens (Duzie style), as mine came with cheap aftermarket aluminum ones.

I am in the Charlotte NC area.

thanks!

I am talking to him now already actually. And am trying to see if anyone can stop by to verify. Long haul from Charlotte

A correct TR3B front apron will have the hole pattern for the smooth TRIUMPH nose letters used from very late TR3A's onwards. An earlier TR3A apron will need the ribbed letter holes welded up then re-drilled for smooth letters, or just use ribbed letters if originality is not a problem.

A post TS60000 rear apron will be needed with the later radius cornered single lip water seal, not the earlier square cornered channel type seal.

According to Moss catalog an easy way to tell would be look at the first letter T-Early ribbed has 2 holes, rumph have 2 horizontal holeseach about 1/4" apart
late T smooth has 3 holes.

Jedi, I am not sure how to picture what you are saying regarding the rear apron and the seal. You mean the seal on the boot compartment?

That's it - the seal for the boot lid.

The later rear apron you need has rounded corners for the rubber seal.

The early one that won't match your car has squared corners.

hopefully this is the one ... I bought it and shipped it home

I bought the sidescreens. They were NOS, and he sewed in new windows (the PO used to rebuild sidescreens as a sideline, nice job...)

This the pic?

I am still looking for a front apron. I spent yet more time over the weekend very carefully bumping out the low spots in the one I have, and it IS slowly coming back into shape. But I can't imagine how many hours I have into it now...
