Why don't you just take your own photo of the earth? Then you can match the lighting of the cat.

The original shot was with a handball, didn't have a "globe ball" around at the time. Actually hadn't even thought of it then, only after years and his passing did we come up with the idea. I'd likely have a better result if I would superimpose the Earth in a darkroom print. This first try was with GIMP, my first messing with layers. Baby steps.

"a bit" being the point. Doing a separate image of an Earth ball and the same lighting as Greg suggested would be a better solution.I think it's quite a bit better.
