Trying to finish up this LH OD unit without breaking the owner's pocket book as he is a fellow lister here on the board.

When I took the OD unit down I found that the little spring, plunger cup and ball were missing from the bottom of the bore for the pressure valve. It is possible that they were there and that I lost them, but I will never own up to it! LOL Really, I don't think taht they were there. I have been thinking all along that I would be able to make something up that would work but now I don't want to chance the quality of the rebuild by skimping on such small items.

Actually the only way that Moss supplies those parts is as a part of the valve assembly, and they want about $128 for it.

What I am getting to is that I would like to avoid the expense of the whole valve and if someone has a trashed OD unit that still has those parts in it I, and the car's owner, would be beholden to you if you would see fit to put them in the mail to me. Name your fair price and I will see to it that you are paid instantly. Easy to get out of the OD, just remove one hex cover screw and drag the whole mess out the bottom of the unit.

Reference....

Moss catalog page 41 part number 466-330 is the whole relief valve assembly.

In the Bentley book on page 178 the parts that I actually need are #39. #40, #41, plunger, spring, ball respectively.

Other suggestions for sourcing would be happily entertained too.

Thanks, Jack

Jack, I can't do anything for you until I get back in the States - but don't think I have a used setup anyway....

Thanks for the thought Tony. Do you have any suggestions as to who might have such an animal sitting around? I would buy the whole broken thing if the price was right.

BTW: Is it cold over there? I saw a news broadcast yesterday that made it look like NK was a wonderful place to be. Like great shots of a bustling middle class buzzing around in their spiffy clothes in clean and prosperous mega cities. They interviewed several folks, one of which was a retired military type, sound familiar?, who tried life in SK and came back because it was better in NK. ???

Then they showed a satellite image of the peninsula at night. You guessed it. South of the parallel the land looked like one big WalMart parking lot. North of it there were No, not one, im mean none, not a single light glowing on the surface.

Oops, I think that was CNN or maybe it was NBC. LOL
