TR2/3/3A Need some help with TR3 Engine problem

My TR3 has run flawlessly for 2 years now, but now it has developed a problem. The car seems to run fine when first started; but after running at speed for a while, sometimes engine will die when I stop at a red light (not always). In other words, sometimes it won't idle after a period of running. The car will re-start easily, sometimes it will idle really rough and sometimes it will start up and idle fine.

This car has standard SU carbs. I checked the timing and it looks OK, getting plenty of spark to all cylinders.

Any hints will be greatly appreciated!

I had a similar problem with my TR3. Mine ended up being the jumper wire quick slide connector from the coil to the distributor was bad.

I would take a look at the sparkplugs and see if they have build up. Oh BTW two years of perfection is miraculous
