TR2/3/3A Need Pic & Dimensions of TR3 Spring Compressor

Was a lousy picture anyway (the one I posted), so here's a fresh one. I opted for 3/4" threaded rod, nuts & washers from HD; plus a plate I scrounged from the junk box (actually a generator pulley half from a VW bug, I believe) and drilled to fit over the studs in the pan. Not visible in the photo is the extra flat washer below the plate, which serves as a replaceable wear element. Threaded rod is about 16" long, which is maybe just a tad longer than necessary and can touch the inner fender if I try to pull the pan up higher than necessary.

In use, I hold the upper nut with a box-end wrench and use an impact wrench on the double nuts on the bottom.

It's done several front ends now, and shows no signs of undue wear or distress. Might be overkill ... I like overkill when it's my hands on the line if it breaks.

Thanks for the info and pics. I've got an old bent 3 pulley half that might work for the top plate if its not too wide. Karl
