1958 Bugeye, I spent the day welding up holds drilled in engine compartment over the last half century. need to compare to stock, making sure I did it correct.

can I remove front shocks without any issues. car jacked up or down.

also on the firewall, below bonnet gutter, where the battery is located. There are two bumps in firewall, they are double walled.

maybe 1" wide couple inches long. Can't figure out what they are for, my best guess is battery bumpers. But mine are rusty and need redoing.

I didn't know how important the open space was between the the double walled area.

There are oodles of engine-less photos out here on the ol' interweb, but there is a completed one. :yesnod:

The bumps you talk about had to be fixed in mine too. It wasn't double walled, though. It was a single layer.

I love looking at engine pictures, I can't wait until mine is done, I will just sit and stare at it....

Here is the backside of the battery bumps..

thanks for references. my next project is the dash removal, I guess British call it a dash. then I can see what has been placed behind. battery bumps. thought the material felt light to the finger probably duct tape to keep hot air from going into interior.
thanks again

Gerald your display is excellent, if memory is correct the inner fenders have extra holes I thought were factory since they were on both sides

I knew I'd seen that somewhere as well. Those are fantastic reference images, Gerard!

Thank you, Gentleman!...

Several people contributed to the effort over a period of time.

Lots of other good stuff lurking there as well... :hammer:

Gerard, I am well versed at Photoshop, if you ever need help with anything like that, just let me know...

Thanks Joey. I always welcome contributions or ideas for them. Send me an email of some stuff you've done before. I would like to see it.

Thanks!
