Yep, I did something stupid: put my old VIN tag somewhere so I'd not lose it......

Now, I need a photo of the engraving on one that I can take to someone for them to make my new one!

Anybody on-line make them?

Spoke on phone.

I've got new blanks - just lost the old one.

The only thing I've lost during this project!! Thought I'd lost some other stuff but they reappeared....hope this does! :cryin: :madder:

I'm going to cut the grass!!!!

Hehe, can not scan. Too old and dark. Will be pleased to send it to you for a look see.

misunderstood..so you are looking for the actual letters/numbers so you can duplicate the style or font of the stamps they used to make the vehicle # on the plate(?)
I took a set of metal marking stamps..hammered it out. I guess you're looking for originality though.

Looked everywhere....had it & its 2 little screws together....darn it!

I've got new blank plate but just need to know what it looked like so I can show engravers locally...guess I could take them an old MGB plate if they look the same.

Its somewhere!!!

But if I don't find it - anybody got the 2 little screws?

Mine is in the bottom drawer of my top toolbox. Did you look there?

Every drawer of all tool boxes!

I used two little stainless screws from ACE.

TAA DAA!!!!

FOUND IT! & its little screws!!

Its the old, original one...

&, Jack, mine is just engracved from the front, not stamped from the rear! Actually, its probably stamped from the front as the numbers don't quite line up exactly.

Where was it? Sitting under a portable fan on the workbench back in the Midget Room!

Congratulations!!! Of course that's the safe spot  FWIW I had to tear apart both the basement and the garage when I was "sure" it was in the tool box drawer. It was, bag had flipped up on its side at the very back of the drawer.

Re: TAA DAA!!!!

Well done. New screws Tony??

Re: TAA DAA!!!!

Gonna have to get new screws, Jack...the old ones are rusty.

Re: TAA DAA!!!!

Tony,

I think that mine were punched.

From the front?

I believe mine were also punched from the front.

Some MG's were punched from the rear so they have raised letters - not indented letters.

Re: TAA DAA!!!!

Ah, they're different.
