TR2/3/3A Need opinion on gear reduction starter for TR3A

I'd have to agree; there is something to be said for the locking OEM connector housing. I used an ordinary quick connect and it became intermittent after a decade or so of service. Took some time to find it too; I initially thought the problem was the contacts inside the solenoid.

But I still have no idea where to buy one, or even what the proper name is. A junkyard would be my only other suggestion. I was in a hurry, so I just replaced the quick connect and figured I'd know to look there first if it happens again.

Thanks. That’s what I’ll likely do, but seems that connector should be readily available. Parts places just don’t seem to be able to track it down. Cheers, Mike

That's definitely the problem ... hard to describe. I took the starter with me on my rounds yesterday and even that did not help. Hard to believe replacement connectors are not available for such a common Nippon Denso starter.

Cheers, Mike
