Hey you Miata owners...is there a seatbelt guide part that fastens to a removable headrest (2 posts) and would keep the belt coming over the corner of the seat top?? I have installed Miata seats in the SP50 along with 3 point belts. The belts want to slide down off our shoulder, and changing the belt anchor locations is not an easy option. Yes, guides could be fabricated, just hoping to find them as an available part and not have to re-invent the wheel. :thankyousign:
 
So I s'pose Sparco seats are off the table, then? :shocked:
 
Are you sure you have Miata seats? You mention removable headrests and to the best of my knowledge no Miata ever had such a thing-the seats are all high backed, and often have speakers in the headrest area.

Now, I was looking at the new issue of Hemmings today, and saw an advert in the color section for a thing for MGB's that clips onto the headrest post, and sticks out to hold the shoulder belt. This may be what you are looking for.

Some of the early MX-5's (Miata is a US only name) for other markets had adjustable headrests.
 
Shawn- I only know what they were "labeled" by the breaker yard, and have no clue if they were international. Important part was they fit, and provided some whiplash protection.
 
These are for '70 and later MGB's but they may work for your application.

Out of curiosity, are the seats you have tan leather? AFAICT the only U.S. market Miata with separate headrests was the '95 M edition, and they're not very common. If they have a Miata logo embossed in the back then they're genuine. I'd forgotten about them because I've only ever seen a handful of those cars. A few U.K. market cars had cloth seats with headrests, but I don't know which ones-and I figure that such an item would be even rarer in an American scrapyard.

Wm- checked the invoice, and they are indeed from a '95. Found them on ebay and paid 195. for the pair...they needed recovering, which was my plan no matter what condition. Headrests are on 2 round sliding posts, so the rectangle style for the MG may not work. I am wading thru the thousand of sources (or so it seems) I find using a search engine.
