Recently, my wireless optical mouse (Kensington) has developed a mind of its own. It is very hard to control, will suddenly jump off the page, and is very sensitive to the surface upon which it is used.
I have upgraded the drivers, removed and reloaded the software, but there is no improvement. This was supposed to be one of the better mice. I paid approx. $50 for it, but this thing is very cheaply made.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

After using a Logitech wireless mouse and experiencing similar problems, I've gone back to the wired type. Never was happy with the wireless performance.

Have ya cleaned the lens? Sometimes a bit of fluff nearly invisible will interrupt the reflection of the laser.
Cat hair here is an issue. :jester:

I bought 4 rechargeable batteries and exchange them about once a month.
Before that I had issues but now none.
Mine is Microsoft and has a keyboard as well.

Mick: I agree, but having the freedom of no wires is nice. I am surprised that there aren't more high-end components for people that are willing to spend a little more for better quality. It reminds me of LBC parts. :wall:

When mine goes batty I know it is time to change the batteries. Is the receiver close to the mouse or is it tucked away under a desk? Can you change channels on the receiver? Do you have any new electronics in the house that may work on the same frequency?

Is your cell phone anywhere near your mouse? My wife found that her cell wuld screw with the wireless keyboard and mouse. Since she uses her cell for work, she went back to wired.

So THAT's how printers work!! They have an engineer aboard!!
