Need a body shop in Oakland CA area

The body shop that currently has my BJ8 has had it 4 months. It's been 4 weeks and they have not touched it. Before that they dented my frame. I tried everything to get them to work on my car, but it seems fruitless. To date, I would say they have only put in 5 days work on it.

Can anyone recommend a restoration, or body shop in my area, Oakland CA? One that will actually work on my car, without me pleading them to?

Thank you, Roger

Hi Roger,
The last I read was that the shop owner said he would personally do the work & also fix the dented frame. Apparently things didn't work out? If the shop truly has 5 days of labor into the car, they are likely to want to charge you a couple of grand before you can take the car. Real bummer! Sorry I don't know who else to take it to. I hope someone has some good suggestions.

Guys, thank you. Problem is, finding a body shop willing to take this job on. Most everyone I talked to before this shop took my car, was, we do insurance work. Or if they would take it, they quoted me a price so high, it was their was of saying no-thanks. Plus we will work on it when we have some spare time between our insurance jobs. Spare time?

I really need to find a shop first, then tell the current shop I'm taking it back. If I take it now, and can't find a shop in a month, 2,3,4 etc, then that shop wants 6 months or a year to work on it. This current shop may, maybe, possibly, hopefully, by some fluk, by mistake, or asks who's Healey does that one covered in bondo dust belong to, work on it till then. Make sense? I'm so frustrated.

The owner of this body shop does do excellent work. One of his employees dented the frame. He did tell me he will now work on the car. But he doesn't. It's hard to find a body shop that is truely professional. And that friends, should include atually working on the car. Not putting insurance work in front of mine. One week turns to 2, then 3,4, then months, then frustration, then letter of can anyone recommend a body shop in Oakland CA. Thank you guys. Roger

Roger - It's really sad that it has come to this. But I think you're doing the right thing. Let's you and I huddle up. I was thinking some more about this after we had lunch on Friday and I think I have a guy for you - in San Leandro. He comes highly recommended by my interior installer (who does killer show car interiors). In fact, he was the guy that was going to do my Jag until you fixed all the dents and made it unnecessary.
Call me bud.

Just more money TH.and there is the required proof of where the damage accured. The only people that get rich in court are the Attorneys. Not only do you need a comletion date but a contract that is a written statement of work---Keoke
