Just saw a very nice MGC-GT imported from France (in a local shop). Nice V-8 in it and very tidy.

In the engine-bay is a smallish cubical metal thing that is part of the intake manifold assembly. It has what I think is an output line that runs to a "T" where the line splits to go into the radiator and the coolant overflow container. Is this some sort of "air-burping" thing?
It couldn't be sending fluid TO the intake area, but it could be sending it to the coolant system (though surely not any significant amount).
Inquiring minds...
I put a pink line over the tubing in this attached photo (and outlined the cubical thingy).

All part of the Rover 3.5 manifold system: "The top of the manifold is a high point, so air would become trapped there. The small nipple near the top, and the hose connected to it, allows any air to escape into the top of the radiator and from there into the expansion tank. It also would allow a small flow of coolant to keep moving out of the top of the manifold to stop stagnant pockets developing, causing localized hotspots. But the air bleeding issue would be the main reason."

Looks like a Rover V-8 and I would assume a deicer. V-8 Rovers were known for leaks at the intake where coolant was run to manifold to prevent icing. Just my 2 cents, been wrong before.

Interesting. Thanks.
The car was really a mint thing. Funny though that rubber bumpers were INSTALLED on it later (in France), but have since been removed.
