How about MONYPIT. I often thought of using it myself.
I always liked the plate on a local AC Cobra WAWAZAT.
I suggested BFSTEAK to a friend for his red on red on red Healey. He didn't bite.
 
When I had just got my TR3 I was trying to come up with name. This is when she was burning coils every 100 miles, and when she was running, she would set off car alarms when I started her.

Somehow I came across "Isildir" on a celtic language website. It supposedly translates as "little brat".

Her official name is Isildir, but we call her Izzy.
 
A local Amphicar has a plate that says "A WHAT"

I'd go for TEERSIX (tee r six)
I'm trying to figure out a good plate for my 66 Elf.

How about "Red 6"
Not only does it describe your car, its also a reference to Nigel Mansell, known to F1 racing fans as "red 5".

I am not sure how many would "get" the second meaning, though!

I've been referring to my 3 as my "little tractor"... was thinking of getting a LILTRCTR plate for it when I have no other use for the $300 bucks it would cost...

My wife and keds refer to it as the wind up car though..

If it's for a vanity plate, there's only one vanity plate I've seen that I'm tempted to get; one of the Neon hotfoots had it:

BB8B8B8
although I think something else like
BO8BB08

would do just as well. Maybe one for each car.
 
It only costs $30 in South Carolina, a 1 time fee.

Help me out. I don't get it. (but I'm a little dense sometimes)

No intended offense to those that do have these, but I've never quite understood paying for plates that re-state the obvious like "BLU BMW" or "RED PT" etc, particularly on common cars that everybody already knows what they are (granted, our LBCs are unique and rare enough that for many people, it would not be re-stating the obvious). I saw one once in Utah on an Acura Integra (which has "INTEGRA" written across the back of the car already) that read "INTEGRA" and I thought "you're paying $25 a year for that?" It looks good there, Kodanja! That'll keep people (hoepfully) from pulling up next to you and saying "Nice MG!" or "I used to have a Spitfire just like that!"
 
I apologize for not completing this thread. Thanks for all the suggestions.
My favorite name was seabiscuit, but roadbiscuit is more of a reality, since I don't think the TR will float.
For license plate ROADSTR short for roadster but with the TR on the end.
I'll turn that in to our DMV and see if it's available.
