Mystery parts - can you identify them??

Can anyone identify these parts?

There is an original BMC punchcard still attached to one of them. Anyone read punchcards? I can make out a little of it. The part description most likely says: "AIR PIPE" (I can read xxR PIPE). The Dealer number seems to be is: 31221. The reference number is probably 16508 (the 5 isn't very clear). And the 2 digits that I can make out on the part number (Cx8xxx) match one of the two hand written part numbers (C28719) on the tag on the second one.

The handwritten tag has:
B143769
C28719

The castings and polishing jobs are quite different. One is smooth inside with a nice exterior finish, and the second one has a rough casting inside the bore and seems to have been polished more on the outside.

And just in case anyone wants to know: the phone number of the Head Office for BMC Distributors, Inc., in San Francisco, CA, is FR 6-7700 !

Some kind of carburetor manifold ?

Oh, one side of these parts definitely matches up to the inlet side of a carburettor, like a Zenith-Stromberg CD175. 20 years ago when I bought them I vaguely remember them going to a Jaguar. But my memory is poo. The punch card means that they were most likely produced well before the TR7/8.

Part number appears to be Jag. I would guess it is the stub manifold between a Stromberg carb and the air cleaner plenum. I've got one out in the garage but too lazy to go look right now.
