Just pulled this of an MG website under "parts wanted", sounds like a mystery of sorts, just thought I'd post it here to see if anyone has ideas even based on the verbal description, text as follows, the guy's e-mail is at the bottom of the message:

I'm looking for an electronic copy of the workshop schematic (eg. pdf) - or digital photo - of ZB and/or MkIII Magnette gearbox(es) to help identify a unique MG B-Series (mid-series) 1500 gearbox I acquired in 1968.
The MOWOG 4-speed gearbox in question: is very similar to an MGA 1500 gearbox, has same internals as the MGA 1500 mid-series gearbox, has no dip stick / filler in the mainbox (1H3264) casting, has a filler plug in the cover (1H3309) fitted to the left side of the mainbox, has an openning near top of bell housing to vent/cool clutch, has the slave cylinder in the MGA position, and has the MGA high starter position.
Please send schematic/photo of Magnette gearbox via email. If you think you might be able to identify this gearbox by sight, please let me know and I will send you a photo.
