I hate to have parts left over, especially when they're chromed! Eight chromed bolts, 1/2" long, fine thread with 1/2" heads. I cant remember where they go. TIA.
Can't recall BMC/BL using chromed hex-head bolts any place but the mid-dash center plate holding the rod in the middle of the roadster's windscreen. And those were 7/16" heads. I suspect a previous owner had them chromed. That would suggest they'd been meant to be seen.
As for the length and the number eight, the only place I can think of where eight bolts of that approximate dimension are the bonnet hinge bolts. But then you'd have four left over accompanying chromed nuts & washers, methinks.
