my weekend project - front suspension

Just thought I'd report on my project...front suspension is 99% of the way off the car. The rear control arm bolt on the driver's side is being stubborn and won't come loose. Need to borrow my old man's sawzall to cut the bolt. Once that's cut, everything is free and clear from the car.

The good news is that my shocks seem to be newer units that are in good shape, and it looks like the passenger side control arm was replaced. Passenger side came apart with very little effort. Driver's side will be a pain, but no complaints. I'll take what I can get.

Wheel bearings seem to be in good shape as well.

Overall, the process went much smoother than I thought. I am feeling accomplished - seeing how bad the play in the driver's fulcrum pin-to-kingpin and kingpin-to-spindle reassured me that this was needed and the car will handle much better once it's rebuilt.

It seems that the car should be ready for the St. Ignace MI car show at the end of June! I've been wanting to take it up there for 7 years now!

I want to take mine to Indy later in the month - there is a day that fans can drive their cars around the Indy 500 track! Would that be cool, or what?
