Off to Miss Agathas first car show.
Arived and unloaded, drove through inspection and was assibned a class and a parking spot. Spot was way in the back against the edge of the parking lot as befits class 50. Stinking hot day, hehe, 50 ft behind the car was trees and grass. Oh yea breeze as well, was a lovely place to spend the day.
Got Miss Agatha rubbed down and displayed like the judges wanted. Hood open and such. Boy she looked great.
Miss Agatha drew a crowd all day, right to the end of the show, always folks around looking and takeing pics of the engine and the cockpit as well. Kids and spouces standing in front etc etc.
Had a guy come by and give me an engine he had in storage for over 30 years, said it had a single carb on it, anyone know what engine it is??
Stuart Ferry from La. stoped by and spent 3 hours or so we had a good time, he was in Destin for a beach wedding.
Had another fella stop by recient retired Sears store owner who just finished a stand alone garage and shop, sears tools. Last week opened his storage building which has his TC in it along with parts he has been collecting that whole time. He should be along to the forum soonish. Says he is a bit anil and is going to concurse it.
Another fella wanted to buy Miss Agatha I said no and he offered 35K ie a 911 Carara in trade. Said I had no use for it sorry, sell it and bring me 20K cash.
I know sounds really strange, Stuart heard it all and so did the other MG owners there. All of a sudden I was accepted as one of the folks.
Still lots of folks around the car, she was hardly ever alone.
Here come the Judges, best get up there to answer questions or what ever. No problems, easy a pie. One of the Judges came back and said he was not supose to say but that they were all very pleased with Miss Agatha.
Wow, first place at the first show. And she is not even finished yet, lots to do really to get her up to speed.
I can't tell you all how much I have appreciated your help durring the past couple of years. Your friendship has been a great inspiraction.
