My TR7 water pump cover...

...is being stubborn as heck. I've been trying for aweek to get it off. Tried PB'Laster; I've tried rubber mallets, dead-blow hammers, tapped a screw driver into the gasket, then a sharp chisel, still not budging!!!!

There's one 3 bolts-the three facing up, right?

I've tried prying up with a wonder bar form the front side, all I do is shake the car or the engine.

Bigger hammer, take it off in pieces? It's an '81 FI with a 12 vane (so, I'm told). The new pump is sitting there waiting for a new home.

Help!

only three fasteners on the cover, not sure why you are having so much trouble, neither one of my tr7 engines gave me that much trouble getting the water pump cover off. you/ve done anything i would have done.

You might try heating it and then squirting the PB Blaster.
Could help break the rust bond. I'd also try a brass hammer/drift to introduce some vibration. Give it a couple of good whacks.
