Anyone recognize what it is? Certainly a rather rare truck...

And also at Ian's place, a peek in his garage, with some more unusual British stuff, not the usual sports car collection

At least some of you should know the front car, so I'm not saying a word, but we did get them briefly in Canada... And in behind it is a Commer Delivery Van (about a 1952 I think), and a Morris Minor Traveller under the cover...

The white car is his daily driver, just waiting for some parts for a repair...

The Commer needs to be restored (he is in search of some parts having said that)

And the Morris just needs some TLC to get going properly, and they do own one modern car, in case you're wondering...

No,Ive never met him,but found his business card in my
Cortina MKIII.I also bought some 105E Anglia parts from him.
I think that I owe him some money (for the duplicate Paypal).

Right! I haven't seen the commission number plate on the car, so I don't know how that reads. But the commission number plates on "Triumph-badged" Standard 10 sedans and wagons read "Triumph" and included a leading "T" in the prefix [TBE]. That seems not to have happened with the Atlases. Standard-Triumph got so far as to make mention of the TRIUMPH badging and such in the Atlas Major Spare Parts Catalog. However, as only five or six came to North America -- presumably to "test" the market, no further "ID" happened as had with the Triumph 10. In addition to Ian's camper, a "van" version still exists, first sold in Canada and now living in Indiana.

Technically, they all appear to have been variations of the Atlas Major. The original Atlas models used a 948cc Standard 10/Triumph Herald engine, which made for decent around-town delivery but little else. The "Major" introduced a version of the wet-liner four from the Standard Ensign (1670cc), and I believe that is what the original engine was in the panel van now in Indiana. Ian's camper, on the other hand, has essentially a Vanguard (2088cc) engine.

Oh, and I'd love (with your permission, of course) to use this new photo of Ian's camper on the above page!

Oh (2), the white car is a Triumph 1300 sedan, a front-drive car originally intended to replace the Herald. It didn't, but the body shell lived on later in rear-wheel-drive form as a 1300, 1500 and (with the slant-four) a Dolomite.
 
Saw the van parked next to a Bedford a few years ago at ECAIP at Fort Rodd Hill near Victoria. Great car show, lots of stuff usually not seen in the States. I try to go every other year, never lonely waiting in line for the ferry when you are driving a TR4.

And I've actually met John (the guy who owns the other Atlas), a rather interesting fellow, does he still own all those Vanguard's he purchased from Canada? If you want to use the photo, Andrew, go ahead, I'm still on vacation so you'll have to wait until I get home...

I don't know - I suspect it has more to do with finding the right buyer. Assuming the body is as solid as it looks and with the patina, I'd pay that kind of money if I had it - mind you it does point to the difficulty in valuing/ selling obscure cars.
