Be nice....

Big Bird doesn't like to be laughed at!

You should have seen it when it was John Deere green :jester:.

PS: I wonder who photographer J.W.King is.

I don't know Rick, I don't think it is too late to add the rocket launchers to your V8 Healey.

Tim,

Did some research for you. Mr. King is right in your neighborhood, Denton TX. Here's a link to his entertaining blog with the original post: https://caughtatthecurb.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Thanks for the plug! Hopefully Bret (the owner) won't come up here and kick my butt for poking fun at his car. From looking at his mods, I'm guessing he has a sense of humor.

Enjoy the blog and join the 10's of loyal readers I have. Towards the bottom of that link you posted, there are a couple of pictures of both a Sunbeam Alpine and a Diamler Dart that I caught in my travels. Also, if you know what that black mystery car on the trailer is, let me know on the comments. Thanks!

Thanks! Most of the photos on that site are stolen, err, borrowed from the net, the exception being the ones with the CATC text and my name on them. Another set you guys might like (even though it's not Britsh) is of an old Indy car I caught in my travels. Check out the oil tank that's sitting right next to the driver, not to mention the driveshaft that runs right between the driver's legs!

As for your car, if it's funny or interesting (and what old British car isn't?), shoot me a couple of pictures and I can add it to the blog, along with a return plug for this site.

Cool photos of the Indy car. Where was the car located? The front grill instantly reminded me of a Frog eye.

My car is okay, except the darn fender wells are folded in to accept larger tires (the car has been drag raced since the 70's). Talked with a friend at Coffee & Cars in Plano, TX and he had a great suggestion on how to reverse what the previous owner modified.

Until then, NO PHOTOS FOR YOU! j\king- looks like I'm buying back a '70 TR-6 I sold to a guy 7-years ago. I'll send you a few of those instead.

Keep up the interesting work, Bud!

I honestly don't remember where the car was, Charlie. I scanned the entire Metroplex for Skyhook Wireless (the people who make "GPS" for iphones possible) and don't remember where I was that day. Somewhere in the mid cities I think. It was having the upholstery redone which is why you can see all of the innards of the cockpit.

Just to keep this "British car related", I've always loved Brtish sports cars. Back in the early 70's, I almost bought a couple in fact. The one that I really wish I had gotten was a '64 Jaguar E-Type roadster that a local Ford dealer had. It was red with a black interior and top. The dealer redid the whole car with new paint and interior and mechanical work. Back then, they couldn't give those cars away. They were only asking $1,400 for it. My dad would have had to cosign for the loan and he wouldn't because of three reasons:

"It's British, so it would always be breaking down." TRUE.
"It's British, so it would cost a fortune to repair." Also TRUE.
"I know you, and you'd kill yourself in it within a week!" Ummm..probably TRUE.
