<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:]one site on the net with information on how to build a wood gas generator, so I'm underway building a wood-powered car![/QUOTE]

I don't think there is anything on the web with only one site!

check this out some guy built a wood gas powered Yugo!
https://freeweb.deltha.hu/zastava.in.hu/wood-gas.htm

Also check out this guy he has lots of technical suggestions:

Are you planning on towing around the gas generator? it is going to be rather large, if it is able to power the engine. Also during WWII when these were "common" large vehicles such as truck or buses used big balloons or gas bags to collect enough gas to run. Might help out.

Anyway, keep us up to date sounds like fun.

Just one other thing, these systems create VERY large quantities of CO (carbon monoxide) leaks can be (and were) fatal. Please be careful.

70herald, You're right. Now that I had some proper terminology (I.E. wood gas , producer gas, gassification) to use I've found several sites with good information.
Thanks for the links. any information helps.
I'm currently planning on trying to fit this unit in the trunk area. It will definatly stick up quite a bit, but I'm researching on ways to reduce the overall size of the unit.
I found one site that was titled "wood powered Yugo". I thought, this must be a compact design. WRONG! it looked like he drove through a basement, and came out with all the plumbing stuck all over the car. With a full 6 foot high water tank hanging off the back.
I'll definatly keep you all updated. I'm still in the research phase right now.
~edit~ I'm an idiot! Heralds first link is that exact Yugo! I shoulda looked at his links first. Thanks again 70-herald.
