I ditched the front wheel drive Lancer GTS I bought a couple of years ago for this 5 door. This little ditty is a Ralliart (2.0L turbo, AWD). So far, it's been a fun little run around that's also been very versatile, as can be seen by the picture. In the picture there are 22 bags of mulch that measure 2cubic feet each.

Nice thing I found with this car is the Open Source community behind it has developed software that I can use to change the tune of the car. It's an interesting concept to re-program your car's ECU to change what a screw-driver use to do on the MGB. Also, I suppose it carries higher risk to flash your ECU to change your car's tune, the risk being a "bricked" ECU.

Still, I've cut my teeth on the car's programming, and bumped the power figures up by 50% easily.

I recently found that this year is the last year that they'll be importing this body style for the Ralliarts, and last year was the first year. So, even though I didn't plan it, seems like I now have a 'limited run' model in the US market.

that is cool!

MULCH?!?!

Geez, Rob!!! Yousa goin' all ~domesticated~ on us?!? :eeek:

nah... fer my friends' place; I was helping them out, due to boredom . He's got a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0, she has a Honda SUV that's terminally filled w/ her work stuff, and I have a compulsion to see how much junk I can fit into the trunk of my haulzall.

I think this run was the highest volume fill I've had. The highest weight run I've had included (but not limited to) 4 36"x36" double pane vinyl windows, 2 bales of R-19 insulation, 2 60lb bags of stucco, and I think there were some 8'x2x4s in there ....

Wow! I've done very similar loads in Diesela recently, had to call a pal with a trailer for the drywall tho.

yeah, I don't think i can get a 4x8 sheet of dry wall in there w/o damaging the dry wall... When I hear 4x8, I say rent a truck :p

I feel like such a wuss for buying a truck now. Biggest I ever had in the BMW was a full size directional TV antenna. It stuck from the passenger footwell to the rear window, and was a trick to get in there. I called it a success the next time I used the rear window defogger and all the lines still worked.
