I picked up a 68 Fleetwood Brougham the other day mostly because it seats six has seat belts and was cheap. Personally I would have rather gotten a Buick but hey there's nothing wrong with a Cadillac. It was originally bought in Clovis, NM and then brought here to SW OK so the sun has not been nice to the interior or the paint. On the bright side it is essentially rust free, with only a little cancer around the rear window where moisture was caught under the vinyl top, and in the trunk. The car runs well but leaks ATF. Currently I am working on the brakes and tuning it up for daily use. I'll be posting pics of it sometime.

Good to hear from you, Walter!

'68 Fleetwood - whadda TANK!

Hey Walt!

Will you ever buy a newer-model car?

Good on you... The Caddy should certainly be an interesting family car...

I love the styling of the Caddies from that era.
My Dad had a '64 for many years.I don't care for how
they drive, but I like the way they look.

James, I'd buy a newer car if I wanted something disposable. However I'd rather have a car that will last over one that has GPS or something equally useless.

I just caught up with a local musician friend last night, he took his 1973 Lincoln Continental out to the local cruise night, and it's also the only car he owns... He was showing one person how easy it was to fit all his music gear in it...

That's another good point James. I have a baby so we need a stroller, and my oldest in in a wheelchair so we need room for that, and we have to be able to fit groceries in there somewhere too. So the Caddy is a good choice for size considerations.

don't think you need a GPS on something big enough to be seen from space. :jester:

Good choice, you're to young for a Buick.

Beautiful car, that.

A friend of mine had a perfect '62 Fleetwood convertible back in the day. White with red leather interior. Really nicely done car. Powerful, smooooth, and more comfy than any living room couch! It has A/C, too.

What I would give to have that car today . . .
