Here are some pics of my "new Alfa". It's got a '71 1750 cc motor in a '76 body. Poor owner had to unload it quickly for a move. Some things he did:
1 Dupont Imron paint job (including rims)
2 Blue canvas top (perfect shape)
3 Huge springs an Koni red shocks
4 Air conditioning
5 recovered all vinyl with nice navy blue
6 nice boot cover
7 stainless header and exhaust
8 new wood on dash and redid steering wheel and gear shift knob
9 Carrello headlamp covers
He was the original owner since the early 80's. It had a frozen water pump. Had AAA pick it up and the same day had it going.Got it for $800.

Nice find, that should be fun.

It's great!! Handles well and the 1750 is pretty peppy. I love winding it up and listening to the exhaust. Wish it still had the 2 liter hemi in it tho.

OOOH! Alfa! Cool.
That isn't a Saturn SC2 behind it,is it?
Noticticed that because I'm driving #2 Kid's
off & on.

Actually, the 1750 is supposedly a nicer engine than the two-litre. More revvy. Good find, you lucky so-and-so! Good find!

I agree totally!

...I thought I'd see photos of a GTV upon openin' this thread, BTW. Was instantly plottin' ways to come up there and pummel ya if that were the case. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Flip your ~other~ Spider, KEEP the 1750.
And go get that GTV!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Oh, and get that silly li'l spoiler off'n that Spider! It was just a sales gimmick, looks goofy to me. Pinninfarina can't be responsible for that.

And I even have a spare 2 liter in my shed. Got it free. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

That sure is a beautiful car, especially for that price. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif
Congrats, I'm green.

Thanks for the feedback on the car. The 1750 is definately peppy but it doesn't have the grunt of the 2 liter. Even with the header it is outpowered by the 2 liter. I'm going to keep it just the way it is (maybe add eletronic ignition). Time to flip the '81 tho. Probably put it on Craig'slist for $2000 and see if I get any hits.
I don't know the model of the Saturn. My high school buddy dropped in from Atlanta and his car creeped into the pic.
Forgot to mention the bumpers are aftermarket fiberglass, saving about 100 lbs. from those black boat anchors on the front and rear.

And p'raps some cam adjustment. My 1750 is able to out pull a SPICA injected 2L easily. Haven't run across the EFI, variaotor version...

wanna 'race', Rick?!?! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Looks great Rick - now about the 'B looks a lot like it did the last time I saw it /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Thanks for the advice. It runs great and "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Gonna throw cash at different things on it like a new rebuilt accuator. Drove it to work everyday this week. Had a monsoon earlier and didn't leak a drop in the cockpit.

Used to buy all my parts from IAP, but the last shipment had 2 wrong items. They made good, but I'll try Vicks or Centerline next.
Rick

I've relied on Centerline for years. Alfa Ricambi used to be my 'fallback' but they're gone. Paul Spruell in Atlanta now sits in their place. IAP or Vick are last resort.
