My Life is Really Boring - Maybe I'll Buy a New Pickup

I've noticed how happy those people look on the commercials,
& if you have a pickup with 4WD,you could drive it anywhere, and park
in the pristine wilderness anywhere you want to,& always get a parking-
space right in front of the store you're going to,plus it would make my life
better,& more popular.
Is that true?

I don't have a 4x4 pickup, but I do own a Jeep. There is definitely something to be said for cruising around with the top and doors off. Taking it camping, looking out for good trails to take it down.

I feel like between the Jeep and the Miata I pretty much have all the pleasures of motoring covered.

Years ago a friends loaned me their Mercedes for a couple of weeks. It was lovely and lovely to drive but I didn't feel any classier or more sophisticated. (Mind you before you say it I know what a daunting task making me either of those things would be) :ROFLMAO:

No top, no doors and park just about anywhere you like. :bananawave:

The same is true for the people in drug ads.

Maybe I'll buy drugs instead.
Besides,I don't think I could afford those
$700+ "Easy Payments" for 72 months.

Or buy beer. You’ll have all the ladies at your door, perhaps some snow-capped mountains, and if you’re really lucky you’ll get a phone call where someone screams “waaaaazzzzzzup”.

Like old car ads, I’ve long admired beer advertising. Coors advertises “cold”. Budweiser, frogs and puppy football. Etc. Nothing to do with quality or taste of the product!

Speaking of parking trucks...

I had to get a larger SUV for towing several years back. Strange to me that in Texas, where pickup trucks outnumber sedans 5:1, the parking spaces are actually smaller than they are in Wisconsin.

Oh, but if you decide to "ask your doctor", remember that everyone in drug ads is moving in slightly slow motion. So give yourself extra time to do anything.

No reason to advertise the taste. They are all selling LIGHT beer which all tastes the same, like colored water. PS. I know I will get blasted for this so "bring in on" if you will.

Agreement from me! (Although I like my cold colored water aka CAB 😀 - and enjoy ales as well.) Which is what makes it interesting to me - how to advertise something with zero differentiation.

I'm in total agreement... light beer is just overpriced water.

Four beer company CEOs were at a conference and decided to go out for a drink.

When they go to the bar,
The Budweiser CEO ordered Bud Light.
The Miller CEO ordered Miller light.
The Coors CEO ordered Coors Light.
The Guinness CEO ordered a Coke. The other CEOs looked at him. He said "If you're not going to drink beer, neither am I."

I like a good dunkel. Lowenbraü is one of my favorite German beers.

Coors and Bud are (somewhat embarrasingly) the two most popular beers in Canada. The drinkers maintain it is about taste but in blind taste tastes are consistantly unable to identify them - ergo it is all about the advertizing.

In which category would you put this? Probably not lite! You can't drink a 6 pack of this, and walk away! At least I can't. :thirsty::devilgrin:

Never had that. Been almost 40 years since I had a bud though I loved the frog ads. There are so many micro breweries around here, flavor is never an issue. I could walk to Santa Monica Brew Works. They have stouts that run 12% to 14% ABV. One will do for me.

The CAB is to keep hydrated and to drink with a quick meal. Yuengling Is my beer choice for taste. Guinness for occasional celebrations.

Forgot to mention. Some of their beers, once brewed, are aged in used bourbon barrels for a year. That's where the high alcohol comes from.

When living on the East Coast Yuengling was my favorite, but I've never seen it sold here. Not much of a drinker anymore, kinda lost the desire for it. :rolleyes2:
