Hello to all. I recently came across this forum via a link from another page. This is my first post here.

I'm just learning the in's and out's of this forum, but I like what I've seen. I'm at work right now, so I don't have a lot of time to explore.

I see some of the same folks on here that I saw on the other forum...MGB Experience.

Forum rules seem to say I'm supposed to introduce myself, so here goes.

Personal info: My name is Larry Wyatt and I live in Crossville, Tennessee. I'll be 57 years old on Christmas Eve, but I'll accept gifts both days. Been married to the same incredible, patient lady for 31 years on the 27th of this month. Two sons...a 29 year old EMT, and a 25 year old Firefighter. Two grandsons. Have worked for a Dept of Energy contractor in Oak Ridge, Tennessee for 30 years. Started as an engineer, now Shift Operations Supervisor and Emergency Director. Gave the Navy 28 years, 22 of them as a VERY ACTIVE reservist...retired Senior Chief.

I own a 74 MGB, blaze red in color...but I still tell everyone that it's University of Tennessee Orange. I'll post a picture when I figure out how. I bought it in April of this year from an individual in Nashville. It's in pretty good shape, runs like a top, and is the second one I've owned. My first being a 1966 B I bought in San Diego in 1972...drove to East Tennessee, then stupidly sold it.

Just wanted to check in and say hi. Need to get back to work.

Later.

Larry

Let me be the first to welcome you to our humble forum (because I'm crazy enough to be up this late). So you're in Tennessee, eh? One of our moderators, mickey, is in Clarksville. One of the mods in this (MG) forum is Tony B from Huntsville (somehow I get the feeling you probably knew that).

Posting a picture is easy. If its on a server somewhere (like your own home page), just click the "Image" link in the "Instant UBB Code" box while you are in the message edit window and add the complete URL to the popup box.
Or, you can add a picture as an attachment. When you type in a post or reply, check the box that says "I want to preview my post and/or attach a file". Thne, when you submit your post you will be give the opportunity to upload a picture (there is a size limit but I can't remember what it is off hand).

For example, in this reply you will see an attachment link in the header of my post. Click it and you will see a picture I attached.

Welcome aboard,

Basil

PS: Good thing you posted or we'd have had to visit you in the small hours and put a bat up your nite dress /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Welcome Larry...seems like we have a lot in common, including the '74 Blaze Red B's, and you are a few years older...dang, I love to be able to say that! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Happy Birthday and a Merry Christmas! Don't you just hate that when they take one of your Christmas presents and give it to you a day early and say happy birthday??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif I have a son who's birthdya is the 23rd and a newphew's is the 20th...when they were kids we used to celebrate their "half-birthday" in June /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good choice of forums Larry! Welcome, and happy Birthday.

You'll soon find this place to be the best place for about anything to do with your B, and not so 'stuffy' as to be boring. Call this bunch "eclectic." Yeah, that's it... we're Eclectic. Even inna mornin'.

Larry - WELCOME!! Yep, I'm just down the road on the edge of Alabama/Tennessee line...& Jerri, my wife, owns a farm in Livingston - about 1/2 hour from you - on Dale Hollow Lake...we're up that way from time to time & she has a dear lifelong friend who lves in Crossville (her husband's a dentist there)...so we'll have to get together in your garage one day & kick tires!

Welcome Larry, I grew up just west of Nashville in a little town called Huntingdon. I'm very familiar with your location. You've lucked upon a great group of people here. I know you will enjoy this forum.

Actually Bruce, I found it the opposite with my birthday. Being on the 21st of December, I would see relatives at Christmas that I wouldn't see most other times of the year. They always had a hand full of money which they quietly sliped into my hand and said it was for my Birthday. And I still got Christmas presents too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Welcome from out here in the wine country. If you get out here let me know and we'll hook up a few wineries.
