Took Little Satan out today for its first trip out of the garage in a year. This morning, installed the new sway bar.
Tomorrow, new bushings and a little further trip is planned. Its hard to be completely trusting of the little guy...but so far its been great!

My husband drove it today and about 15 or 20 minutes into our trip he admited that he was having fun. (OH WOW!)

Lil' Lucifer?

Excellent, soon as you get a few miles on him you will find you can trust him. Big problems usually let you know ahead of time when they are going and little ones you just fix along the road or what ever.

Of course with proper maintance you will never have a prob on the road, ever.

My last one took me to work everyday for over 15 years, never failed to start or get me there and back. Now I did rebuild the engine twice but it never failed.

Great! Now it's behaving, are you going to change his name?

Actually, I probably will, but you know how these little guys are...he has to tell me his name.

Thank You Jack,

I really hope for a few years of back and forth to school from him. Its only about 4-5 miles one way and all neighbor hood driving.

I still have a long list of things to fix and do, but he doesn't seem to fight quite so hard anymore. Today I'm going to replace the rubber grommets on the rear springs. Next weekend I gotta figure out what to do about the hole where the radio used to be. Then on the trunk, tires, shocks, ....... so I will still be busy. The best part is, I'll be driving too! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

Fill the hole with a radio......Or a blanking plate.

We are discussing radio or wood box. My dad is a wood worker and is itching to build me a box that matches the steering wheel and shift knog to fill the space and hold your wallet or small items. Not an original piece but neither is the steering wheel or shift knob)

My sons want tunes. But I've been reading the speaker discussion and I am not sure how much music you will be able to hear with the top down ( or If I really want to drown out the song of my motor)

They make a new stereo that has a USB plug in the front where you can slip in a memory stick. I have a couple (including one that holds 1gb) and this would be a cool way to carry and play the tunes

Any suggestions from others?

My Midget still has the original radio for looks, with a Kenwood CD player sitting in the glovebox. I'll leave the glovebox open and control it with the remote while I'm driving. I have 2 tweeters behind the original speaker grille, and 2 6x9s behind me. Ths year I plan on adding an iPod interface underneath the ashtray so that I can remove the insert and hook up my nano. Sound quality is excellent. Even with the top down (i've only driven with the top up maybe once or twice) I hear EVERYTHING. Just make sure you don't buy cheap "Kmart" speakers and you'll be fine.

Yep, and mostly every day.

Terri, if you're only driving 4 or 5 miles through the neighborhood, be sure to take the little guy out for a spirited romp now and then. It'll make him much happier.
You too, for that matter! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Oh no worries there, Jeff. I took off this am for an early morning trip to the Garden. Long drive down a country road that winds along the river and fields. It was a mite chilly...note to self..gloves in the glove box. Wow this is fun.
We have hundreds of little winding country roads around here all within a five to ten minute drive from my house. After all it is "The Natural State" and I plan to experience it first hand with the top down. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif
