Those who follow the Spridget thread are aware of my daughter Jessica, who is autistic. The pandemic cause significant regression in her behavior due to the lack of structure that she needed on an everyday basis. Last summer we made the very difficult decision to enroll her in a residential program at the Benedictine School in Ridgely, Maryland, which is on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Each year, for their annual gala, the school produces a video to show the benefactors what the school is doing. We were honored that the school chose our daughter to represent the students in the school. Below is a link to the video that was shown.

Seeing children blossom and strive toward realizing their potential is a parent's greatest gift.
Bravo.

That was a fantastic video! What a wonderful place and what a wonderful group of kids and young adults. Your daughter is lovely and represents the school well.

Lovely young lady. I have an autistic nephew so I have at least a small idea of the efforts you have done to get her to this point.

Quite a lovely young lady, who we wish her well. A big thumbs up to her parents for providing such a loving and caring family!

We have a small group of autistic young men and women employed at work. They had been in a special program in the Israeli army and several of these people were hired working in a group which classifies pictures of process defects.

One of these young men gave a talk recently to factory employees about growing up autistic, and what working means to him. I was really impressed. Despite his having various communication issues he was able to get his message across and was quite inspiring.

Good luck with your daughter seems like she is in a good place.

When we were in practice of law, my wife was affiliated with Dade County ARC. Her practice included assisting administration of many guardianships of developmentally disabled adults. Bad group home stories are more common than many people would think.
Looks like you have found a place as close to perfect as possible for Jessica's care.
Best regards,
Bob

David, does she still love rides in the Sprite?
