Hello,
I posted my project last week and but forgot to take some current pictures this weekend, however, I could use some help. I have the sheet metal work/welding repairs basically finished and the panels aligned. I worked the rocker panels so that they fit well. (boy was that a lesson in patience). My question(s) are this:
1. Once I fit the rockers, including modifying the front tab and modifying the rocker lines front and back to the door, again, requiring some modification, I used the original aluminum door trim to check door fit/gaps. The original door trim at the rockers is almost a right angle. The rocker panel and the bottom of the doors have an angle (slight) which seems to match the angle of the rocker. Makes sense to me and someone had responded to my earlier post that there was an angle (I apologize that I don't remember who that was, but thank you!) What is correct?? The trim will bend easily to fit and the gaps, etc. look very good. I just want to make sure all is good before I tack weld them.
2. What is the correct gap at the bottom of the door to rocker? Both sides seem to "fall into place" very well with what looks like a consistant and acceptable gap. However, I only have one shot at this and I do not want to mess it up.
Thank you in advance. This is a very helpful site and I look forward to driving you all crazy with questions.....
