Here are some pictures of my '64. It was a barn find in NM. I have been through all the hydraulics, and started replacing leaking seals. (It sat for more than 20 years before I acquired it.) The motor runs strong, and there is very little rust! I plan on driving it a while before I do a more complete restoration. More Pics to come!

It has been a New Mexico car for at least 30 years. Very little moisture here. The tradeoff is everything that is rubber deteriorates...

The rubber parts are much easier to repair then RUST!!

Anyway, very nice find. I've always like the look of the early TR4's where the whole top came off and got stowed in the trunk and the top bows got hidden under the upholstery. It gives such a nice clean look around the back of the cockpit. My first Triumph was a '62 TR4, and I always like the clean look the car had.

That looks very rock solid and nicely unmolested, too - at least when you change out old seals it doesn't look like you need to clean up after the previous owner. And do I spy overdrive as well?

That is a great looking car. I like your plan to use it for a while as it is before smartening it up. Good luck!

It is an overdrive car! How can you tell from the pictures? Thanks for all the positive comments. It has been great fun so far. I have been "lurking" around here for some time, and have learned so much already!

That IS a nice looking find!
I'm betting TR4nut saw the overdrive switch in your cockpit photo. I'm not TR4 savvy enough to know which/where that is, but that's how I tell a possible O.D. TR3 from top-side only photos.

Dang, and I was going to say I had x-ray vision!

Great find. It does look solid. You'll have fun. Be sure to post all your questions so we can pretend to help along the way.

I had to run out to the garage to see if mine was still there (same color, etc & just one state away)...

It too had a 20-year dry nap before I got it. I too decided to do minimal restoration and enjoy a mostly original driver.

Very nice indeed. Yes, the OD switch is evident, the stalk on the right side of the column.
