Multipurpose Parts

I was watching a TV program tonight, Restoration Garage. They were working on a 1948 Delahaye and found it had a worn out throw-out bearing. Where can you find a replacement part for an old rare French auto? They looked around in their old parts stock pile and found a throw out bearing from an old MG that was a perfect match. In seeing it, I think it’s the same one that our Healeys came with originally. I guess even bespoke cars use whatever parts that are available.

I once replaced one of my BJ8's propshaft yokes with one made for a Volvo. Unfortunately, the 'old school' parts counter guys that know this kind of thing have gotten pretty rare.

Restoration Garage is my favorite 'reality' car show.
It's the least scripted, most informative and they have worked on the most exotic vehicles.

My second gear was toast on my BJ8 a few years back so they replaced it with a laygear from a Jag XKE. Has worked great! At least these were similar in those cars!
