Guys, I just noticed my good friend, Mike Cook, is our newest member...for those of you who know Mike, you know he builds some of the neatest V* Mg's around...Mike's originally from England but now lives in Georgia which he uses as a base to drive his latest V8 the "Silver Lady" to all points in North America...here's a photo (the guy in front of the car is me, the guy wiping the trunk lid is Mike)

BTW great job on the V8. I remember seeing it featured in NAMGBR's jurnal MGB Driver for May/june 2003.

Thanks for the complements about the Silver Lady, she was 2 weeks away from the crusher when I stumbled upon her. She is the second V8 that I have built but after the first I had so many ideas left over I just had to build another. There are parts from 14 different cars, parts from a Whirlpool washing machine and a lawn chair, amazing what you can use. I am now working on cross drilled and grooved vented brakes on the front at a cost of below $200 complete, got all the parts just have to bolt them on.

Mike....had I known you were drilling rotors, I could've loaned you the mockup rotor Glenn Towry gave me for a drilling pattern...&, the blocking/brace pattern I have for bolting an MG rotor onto a drill press (just fit the rotor between the shaped pieces of wood, bolt them to the drill press, lay the rotor pattern over & drill!)....as it is, I'm interested in your idea & how I can fabricate the items needed to drill/slot mine - Glenn's patterns are only for drilling!
 
Thanks for the offer, I forgot to mention that the rotors will be vented, so you can see it is a little radical. I know everything will fit the rotors will be nearly 12" dia with a pad size 65% greater than the B standard pads. When I have it set up I will pass the info onto you and others, but at this time I am reluctant to do so just in case an unforseen problem happens and the set uo does not work.

WOW!! Vented, cross-drilled & slotted! &, 12"! Ithought I was gonna have balance problems with my SD-1 front brakes & Saab rear disc brakes...where you gonna lcate your proportioning valve? I'm thinking on the console right next to the shifter so I can dial it as needed from inside the car.
