Mouse chewed my new top

I had a new Moss canvas top installed on my BJ7 six months ago. Due to the high temperatures this week I put the top up to keep it in shape. Car is always in the garage.
A mouse made a nest back there and in its spare time chewed a quater size hole through the top. I do have the extra scrap piece from the window cutout Moss sends with the new top.
Looking for the best patch solution I can find?
In 50 years with the Healey I never had a damaged top! Luck ran out.

Sorry to hear that. Depending on where the hole is, a good top installer may be able to help you. Tops should always be stored in the up position, to keep them in shape. Here is what is written in the Robbin brochure:

"Leave your top in the up position overnight, and whenever you will not be driving. This will help retain the original shape of your top, resist shrinkage, and avoid crease marks where the top folds when in the down position. It will also help to prolong the service life of plastic windows."

Maybe they should add; Leaving your top in the up position, helps to avoid mice making nests and chewing thru the top material, which has been know to happen if the top is stored in the down position :madder:

Good luck with your repair.
