Mounting of headlight bucket on 1959 BN6

Hey all,
Wanted to confirm that the proper way to mount the adjustable
style headlight bucket to my BN6 is with 3 screws into the
edge of the flange on the shroud and fender ? My BN6 body
was completely redone and the original holes have been
covered over by a skim coat of bondo where they worked out
all the minor dents, dings of almost 50 years. The adjuster
tabs fit in the large holes which are still there but the
small ones got covered up.

All the 3 adjuster headlamp units are fitted to Healeys with four 10-32 threaded Phillips countersunk screws with flatwashers, lockwashers and special enlongated brass acorn nuts. The four mounting screws are not evenly spaced but are located approximately at 2,4,8, and 10 o'clock. You should be able to find the screw holes in the bucket flange and in the rubber gasket, which should help you locate the right spots on the car.

Hi Mike,
If you looked at the inside of the headlight hole from the wheel arch, can you see where the bondo squeezed through? That might help locate those missing holes.

Hey Greg,
Unfortunately, the shop that did the body restoration did a very neat job
and it's as smooth on the inside as the outside so no holes visible. I
can obviously get a real good idea on where they should be but was just
trying to make sure that was how the bucket is attached.
