mounting brackets for "original" radio box

I bought my car many years ago from the original owner who had an AM radio installed by the dealer. The radio was contained in a box that hung below the dash in the center. It was made from a heaby cardboard with a leather texture. One large chrome plated speaker grill in the center with the radio below. Having removed the box back in the early 1970's, moving several times I can not find the brackets. One will be simple to fabricate since it takes off of the parcel tray. The other I can not remember what it looked like or where it attached. Has anyone seen a similar radio box for early 1960's Healey's? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Re: mounting brackets for "original" radio box

Hi I think the installation you have was created by a previous owner as opposed to a dealer or factory installed option. At any rate I wanted you to know we are not ignoring your problem and some one may have seen a simlar installation and be of more help.---Keoke

Re: mounting brackets for "original" radio box

healeyguy, i also own a bj7, mine came with its original motorola a.m. radio with self contained speaker, it has a flat metal bar running along its top front section that extends about 3/4" past its sides where one screw at each end secures the radio to the bottom of the heater box, its mounting does not involve the parcel shelf in any way, this is the more typical mounting method ive seen though there are many im sure.
