got the motor installed in a couple hours and spent half of yesterday hooking everthing up.........
after getting my float unstuck, it runs fair...but atleast it runs.........
my clutch refuses to work.....
now, my clutch hosing consist of 3 pieces with fuel line connecting them...(see pic)...is this normal or DPO?
also it seems to me that even with the slave rod out that it doesnt go far enough to move anything inside....
extension maybe? its new........
ive bleed it with the inner tube method with no luck or bubbles........ideas?......zzimmmy

The only non-steel (or alloy) pipe in the hydraulic circuit should be the flex line at the slave. If there's actual "fuel hose" in there it will expand with pressure and lessen the distance the slave will move. Think "hydrodynamics" here... contain the fluid in a non-compressable/expandable environ.

There ARE some plastic hydraulic tubing materials, but I don't think they were ever used by BMC/Leylend.

Solid line (not copper) from master cylinder, to special hose, same as a Flex brake line, into the clutch slave cylinder. That's it. nothing more. Anything else is wrong. Flex line might be 12 inchs or so long.

On the contrary, every 1500 Midget that rolled off the line had a red plastic hose connecting the clutch master and slave. It's a source of endless frustration to any 1500 owner trying to bleed the clutch. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

i got a new line for $5 at Advance auto but the slave end wouldnt screw in all the way....sooo, i went back today and they cut the fitting off, flared it and put my old one on for free....ill be installing it in a few minutes, and hopefully taking a gleeful ride soon after!
bleeding the clutch is easy after youve done it 10 times already!....just use the inner tube and a little pressure and whoosh ur almost done ; ) ..........zzimmmy

Just for information purposes, the only flex hose I've found that will work from the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder is Aeroquip teflon braided hose, it will not expand, thats all we use on race cars, so if I wanted to go the entire length with a flexible hose this would be my only choice.
