TR2/3/3A Mostly TRiumph!!

I think it's quite an interesting and rare car. It is not a fiberglass kitty, not that here is anything wrong with that concept, but a real limited production car with tube frame and steel and aluminum body with TR2 running gear. In the day, most likely a real improvement over the TR2. It would be hard to find a more interesting car or the money.

Agree completely -The Doretti is #2 on my dream list right behind the Italia.

I have had a Doretti now for about a year and a half, and it is much more satisfying to work on the brakes, steering, engine, etc as it is all based on the TR2, which is the model I have owned and worked on since the 70s. The lines are really nice and it has a quirky blend of italian styling in the grill, american style overall (it was basically designed for the California market), and a british 4 banger heart with a healey looking rear end!

Dan, you've had your 2 since the 70's!

I would guess that rallying was huge in the '50's, as all these cars move the instruments over for the passenger to be able to read them better?

Perhaps this should be a new topic but the Doretti inspired some googling:
Here are some other interesting Triumph cars (Doretti not included):

And how about a TR3 "Dove":

There is a discussion of the car above on the TR register.
