Has anyone used the Moss windshield to body seal and what is your opinion of the quality and fit? Thanks and have a good day!

John

Hi John,

I used the Moss seal .. bought it probably 2 to 3 years ago. The material is very good in that it is flexible and appears to be a more modern formulation (more urethane plastic like than pure rubber). The width is slightly narrower than the seal that it replaced (that seal was also aftermarket so I don't know what the original seal width should be). Despite being narrower, the seal fits the shroud depression at the windshield frame very well except near the ends where the wings/beading/shroud comes together. The body panels form a slight depression in this area (on my car anyway) and the seal just rides above. Water will surely flow into this area but I don't know if a wider seal would really help as I can't imagine another seal making this area water tight. Overall the seal fit into the windshield frame channel well. I struggled with getting the seal to fit the channel in the last few inches where the windshield bottom frame bends. The bending operation makes the channel a little narrower so I ended up trimming just a little material from the edges of the seal (sides of the "T") with a razor blade until it would fit into the channel. If you need to make this mod. just be careful not to trim too much or the seal won't want to stay in the channel.

Cheers,
John

I found it to be difficult to install and a little narrow. The took it back and AH-spares sent me one that was wider on the schroud and smaller in the part that went into the grove of the wind-screen frame. It layed down flatter and was much easier to install on my BJ8.
