Moss Top Boot Fitting Problem

I bought a new Moss Motors top boot for my 1967 BJ8.
It looks like it is going to be too small to fit. Is
this typical? Is there a trick to make it fit? I will
have to stretch it to the limit to even have a chance to
make it work.

I bought the same top from Moss a few years ago. I remember it came with the hardware seperately and someone else had to attach the Tenax fasteners to the boot material. I had a boat upolstery place do mine here in Seattle. They did an OK job but still a tight fit. Try letting it sit in the sun awhile to warm up and give it another try. Also it works for me if I attach the rear fasteners first then work to the front corners.
Good Luck!

I still have the original and a replacement. Both fit very tight. A real key is to make sure the top is pushed as far down as possible. Sometimes the top bunches up when folding down. My new stayfast top seems to compress tighter than the previous vinyl one. As stated before, warm the boot up in the sun first. I have even tossed mine in the clothes dryer for a couple of minutes.
