Has anyone been in touch with Paul Asgeirsson lately?I've been trying to reach him the past several weeks about a flywheel and shift lever I sent him,but no luck.I've tried email and telephone;still no response.Knowing he's had health issues in the past,I'm a little worried.Maybe Jack or someone else who lives in his neck of the woods can shed a little light on this?

Jim

He suffered a stroke, and will not be working again anytime soon. His sons are going to try and wrap up some business in the coming weeks. There has been discussions on someone buying Morriservice. This is third hand information from the spridgets list.

Several of us from the Seattle area are going down to his place this weekend to try to sort-out exactly what you are talking about.
If anyone has a legitimate situation where he has bits/pieces at Paul's that need to be returned then we NEED to know ASAP!
PM (or email)either myself of BillL and we will try to work with you and get your parts returned.

I was afraid it was something like that. He's an extremely interesting guy, with a very active mind and great sense of humor. If you hear anything more(medical fundraising, for example),would you please post it and/or contact me directly? Thanks.

Jim

We should also tell the 'list' to send us messages if they want us to check on anything while we are there.

The more specific you are with your description of what you expect from Morriservice the better.

Bill, we should print out anything like that and take hard copy with us.
I can bring my laptop but getting online might be tricky.

Do you want to send the message to the 'list'?

Bill sent this out to the Spridgets list earlier this week (Sunday).

Hello Spridgets,

A general alert that there will be a gathering next weekend at Paul
A.s house to help "close down" Morris Service, hopefully so that it
can be sold and to get projects that Paul was working on sent out to
the respective parties.... I'll send directions to anyone
interested. His son Joey will be there for sure and hopefully his
son Tom and perhaps Paul himself...

There are a couple of people interested in keeping the business
running and talks are ongoin.

Best regards,
Bill L.

Thanks Rich-
It sounds like Peter Schull (Paul's coworker and friend) will be there too so we now have a chance of getting a good bit of this sorted out.
Keep those emails and PM's coming! The more that we know about what is supposed to go where the easier it will be to get everything to its proper place!

I don't know if it's supposed to be general knowledge so I'll wait until I talk with Joey A. but he did mention one of two people interested in buying Morris Service. If this buyer does indeed go ahead, we will all be pleased with the outcome. .. my lips are sealed.

I just sent this out to the Spridgets list as a follow up to Bill L's earlier post. Figured one last post for those who may of missed the first one.

This is just a follow up call to anyone with parts at Morriservice.

A group of listers from Washington are heading down to Paul A's Morriservice this weekend to help Paul, his son Joey and Peter Schull sort out some of the customers parts in the shop. If you have sent parts to Paul to work on and have not gotten them back please contact Bill L pythias@pacifier.com before tomorrow morning or Bill M billmasq@hotmail.com by this afternoon so they can look around for them and try to get them shipped back.

OK everyone-
We were at Paul Asgeirsson's today and are going back tomorrow
We NEED for you to tell us if you have anything at Paul's that he owes you
or if you know of anyone in that status!!!!!
Tell us today/ tomorrow morning (we have NO internet access at Paul's) and we will try to get it sent to you.
BillM, BillL & RickB

Thanks guys - for helping someone out in
time of need.
This is the way life should work!

OK, I'll make one last plug. I stopped by Paul's house and met with BillL, BillM, and RickB. They are sorting stuff as best they can. They didn't get as many responses about parts as they were expecting so if you have anything at Morriservice with Paul A., if you can give a response in the next 2 hours or so, we should be able to get you taken care of. Thanks,

JACK

We're done and gone. We did the best we could with what we knew. Paul had taken apart about 5 trannies and they were in pieces without names attached. We recovered on for Martin Cooper, but that's about it. We found Trevor Jesse's flywheel, some shocks for Peter C. some paint for Frank C. but basically spent the weekend sorting and boxing. There are lots and lots of parts, and I'm sure unfilled orders, but that's all basically beyond our control at this point.

Word is that Gerard is interested. There are plenty of assets, but also some liabilities, especially in dealing with "lost" orders, most especially since we found out today that Paul's computer had crashed a couple of months ago, so most of the information there is gone also......

We did recover my car and there is hope that it can be reassembled within a couple of weeks, Bill M's time permitting as it is at this moment making a pilgrimage to Renton. Hat's off to him and his generosity with time and knowledge.

Good on y'all for stepping in and helping out. Sad situation, but once again I'm impressed with the Spridget folks who'll just step in and do what needs to be done.

One of the big takeaways for me in this was the thought that we never can know how long any of us has left, at least with a sound mind and body.

Being diligent to keep things somewhat organized if at all possible will help those who come after to sort out what goes in the 24 foot dumpster and what does not. It should also help people who really don't understand your obsession to know what it is that you have left them to deal with. Maybe writing out some explanations and instructions would be helpful to them. Labeling things might seem to be over the top, but the things that were clearly labeled by Paul were definitely a great help.

Hopefully Paul's son Joey will join here and will have some questions.
If he does I assured him that the good people here will be welcoming and will be helpful. That's who we are.

Rick,

I've brought this up before.
I was looking around my garage & was thinking-
"What would my Wife/Kids think of/do all of-
this stuff? There's a lot of items I've kept
because there's a connection of some kind.I have
old '80+ SCCA newsletters from Oregon/SF Region,
I have at least 10 boxes of R&T,Practicle Classics,
Your Classic,etc. magazines,20+ boxes of Datsun B210
parts,20+ boxes of Cortina parts (+ a buch of loose-
stuff).
I keep hoping to get together with the "#1kid",
& explain the "meaning" behind things that I've kept.
