After test driving a bit ,it was clear that the Tr4(early style) rack required too many cranks of the humongous
wheel to be fun. I sourced a quick ratio for the later Tr4 as it was all you can get. They CAN be retro fitted to the
early 4 mounts If you are determined. (Like me) First the welded collar on the rt side must be ground off completely.
Then the gear housing (lt side) has to be dressed down to clear the frame. Lastly the problem with the flimsy mounts flexing under
load was addressed by welding a stiff brace to the rt side mount ,over to the suspension tower. There is no room to brace the
left side, but there is also no need ,one brace stops lateral movement.
Freshened up the head on the 1.6 Miata motor , am now ready for spring if it ever arrives.

so to be clear this thread has nothing to do with Morgan Fairchild? (I'll get my coat)

Ah the heart throbs of our youth, now grandmothers (or gone). A buddy of mine has some vintage
"eye candy posters" on the wall of his mensroom. All passed on now( like our hair).
